Feeling Trapped

2026-09-04

Recently, I have been feeling trapped by some experiences and feelings. AI told me that I should leave myself a door and not allow everything around me to get inside me. Understanding a person doesn't mean accepting them. Understanding someone's perspective doesn't mean letting it become part of my own value system. Learn to stop. A healthy process might look like:

Experience → Reflection → Learning → Done

Fact → Feeling → My Judgment → My Action → Done

But not rumination:

Experience → Reflection → More Reflection → Self-evaluation → Re-evaluation → Anxiety → …

If things were easy, we could simply follow this process. So why do we have so much trouble in life? If we treat our life like training a model, what is the goal? For me, is it to find inner peace? To find or maintain happiness within this limited life? We only have this much time and it may end at any time. And we use this time to experience, to think, to walk around, to connect with others, and then what?

Sometimes, when I think about life this way, it seems that nothing can really bother me. Everything will eventually disappear, even the feeling of being trapped will disappear. But sometimes, it's easy to immerse myself in something and get trapped by it. I can be easily affected by the people, things, and feelings around me.

In machine learning, things are set up around a clear objective. But in life, the objective function itself is constantly being built, strengthened, and changed through experience. Although I don't know the exact goal or even whether there is a single goal in my life, it seems that I know one thing: I don't want to be trapped, so maybe AI's suggestions are useful: learn to close my door or step away from some situations.
